A Safe Car is a Priority for Antonine Driving School.

A safe car is vital when you're learning to drive.

learning to drive

At Antonine Driving School, we view learner safety as a major factor in car selection. The Vauxhall Corsa Design is a safe car to drive, and that's why we've decided to use it as our Driving School's tuition vehicle.

Proof of the satety rating of the Corsa can be found on the Vauxhall website, and this is verified by EuroNCAP .

How is the safety rating of a car decided?

An NCAP safety rating is a measurement of safety performance and ability that is given, further to vehicle testing, by an independent vehicle-testing centre, EuroNCAP. They were established in 1997 and are currently endorsed by 7 European governments as a legitimate authority on vehicle safety. Safety features that are rated by EuroNCAP focus on four specific areas:

  • Adult Occupant Protection: how safe are the occupants of the car?
  • Child Occupant Protection: how safe are the children occupying the car?
  • Pedestrian Protection: how much does this vehicle limit the damage inflicted on pedestrians when a crash situation, tragically, occurs?
  • Safety Assistance: how much does the new technology within this vehicle really make a difference in real terms?

  • Star ratings go from 1 star to 5 star, and the rating designated to any individual vehicle is determined by an objective assessment, and grading, of the various safety features above that each vehicle has in place.

A 5 star safety rating is the highest rating that can be awarded by EuroNCAP.

So what does this mean for you?

This means that EuroNCAP has designated the Vauxhall Corsa Design a safe care to drive. It means that the car that we, Antonine , have chosen to use is a safe car , and we've detailed some of the safety features of the car, that are relevant to a learner driver, and that helped this car to attain this safety rating, below.

The Vauxhall Corsa Design is fitted with regulation, three-point safety/seat belts, with belt tensioners and force limiters. There are also both front and side airbags for additional security and safety.

For comfort, the vehicle has adjustable seat positioning, head retraints and steering wheel. Air conditioning is an added feature that makes a huge difference to a comfortable driving lesson in warmer weather. As an added convenience, all windows and exterior mirrors are electronically controlled.
